United Methodists trace our heritage back to a pair of brothers
THE BEGINING OF US.
Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church has been a part of the Midlothian community since 1845. Over the generations, our congregation has witnessed incredible moments in history, with many significant events surrounding the grounds where our church stands today.
Early in its history, the original church building sat over active coal shafts and sank into a mine collapse, which was followed by a devastating fire. Demonstrating incredible resilience, the congregation rallied together to rebuild on safer ground.
Through every hardship—including offering a resting place in its cemetery for victims of local mine accidents—Mt. Pisgah remained a steady sanctuary. That history of perseverance still defines our strong faith and welcoming community today.

With the appointing of our new pastor Michael P Kendall, we have opened a new chapter for Mt Pisgah. We have many ideas and ongoing opportunities that we believe will help the church serve for the glory and honor of God.
Rev. Michael brings an engaging and comforting presence to the church. He rallies for a strong connection with the Churches Pre School.
He is also striving for a connection with worship attendees young and old through his Children's moments, allowing for a different point of view into our beliefs. He also loves to bring fun to the adults as well. He has done this through his summer of VBS stories bringing the fun to the adults.
He has strong ties with the church as well. His In-laws Rev. C. B. King and Patsy King have been long standing members of the church. His wife and their children Christopher and Mary Kathrine and their partners and their youngest Alexander are also members of the church.
