Purpose: The organized unit of United Women in Faith shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand the concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

We are organized to fulfill the Purpose! For more than 135 years, members of the UWF have taken the risk of being in the middle of mission action. As an organization, the UWF have not merely sent money from a distance. Members have been active in ministry with Jesus; they have always understood giving as an expression of God’s grace. Their faith has led them to follow the gospel and to support the mission and ministry of Jesus. The ministries for women, children, and youth have been near and dear to the UWF through the decades and continue to be.

The Mt. Pisgah UWF active mission involvement includes organizing the UMCOR kits, typically collecting over 300 kits annually. Many other projects are supported through our Pledge to Mission to the Richmond District. In addition, the UWF supports the local mission projects of United Methodist Family Services, CCHASM, Heart Havens, Camp Rainbow, and Good Samaritan Ministries. Several fundraising events (pecan sales, serving dinners to the Ruritans, etc.) help fulfill this support throughout the year.
