Sharing the Bread of Life:

A ‘Must Have’ for All Who Love to Cook (and Eat!)

Mt. Pisgah members are known throughout our community of Midlothian as some of the best cooks around. “Sharing the Bread of Life,” the newest addition to our collection of cookbooks, was published in late 2009 and is already being enjoyed by many church members and friends who have purchased copies. If you like to cook – but more importantly, if you love to EAT – you won’t want to miss this book full of delicious recipes from our best cooks!
Profits from the sale of the new cookbook will go toward helping pay down the debt for the state-of-the-art kitchen in the Family Life Center. The good news from the Cookbook Committee is that the cost of printing the book was paid in full as a result of the first three months of sales. The better news is that is that every dollar we earn now is pure profit for the kitchen, and we have 675 more cookbooks to sell!
Cost of each cookbook is $12.50. If you paid $15 for the book before Christmas, the committee is also offering a special of $10 for a second copy. The cookbook is a great option for all of your gift-giving needs in 2010: Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, birthdays, graduations and bridal showers, to name a few. Copies are available in the church office or from committee members. For more information, call Kathy Epperson (794-6612) or Barbara Hurt (379-5779).
Despite the best efforts of the cookbook committee of editors, there were a few errors/omissions discovered once the book was printed. Listed below are several corrections, as well as two new recipes which were inadvertently left out. If you are already one of the lucky owners of the new book, please note these corrections on the appropriate pages. Copies of the correction sheet will also be available in the church office. Also, if you submitted recipes to the book and find errors in your selections, please contact Kathy Epperson. Corrections can be emailed to her at kathyne2000@aol.com.  Additional corrections will be published in future issues of the newsletter and on this Web site.
The Cookbook Committee sincerely thanks all who contributed to the new book by submitting recipes and purchasing copies. Please show the book to your friends and neighbors!
