2009 Budget

The final report for 2009

THE GIFT OF THE VINE

Jesus said, “I am the vine, you are the branches.   Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.”  - John 15:5 -

Mt Pisgah United Methodist Church is part of God’s great vineyard of the true vine of Christ. We are the branches...the branches that bear fruit for God, which involves both a gift and a responsibility. The gift is the gift of Jesus, the gift of life; our responsibility is to bear fruit, in other words, to share the abundant life we find in Christ.
We work in God’s vineyard to grow in faith and to bring others to Christ. The financial plan of Mt. Pisgah provides the funds to make that growth and outreach possible. The diagram above and the paragraphs below help detail the two major parts of our financial plan for giving: 1) the Mortgage Fund and 2) the Ministry Budget. Together they undergird the mission of our church as they fund the various capital, staffing, and program needs of the congregation.
Take a look at the information below and prayerfully consider how God would like you to support this important nurturing of the vine. For a more detailed, line-item presentation of the 2009 Ministry Budget or Mortgage Fund visit our website at www.mtpisgahva.org or contact the church office.

MORTGAGE FUND
     Mortgage Payments          $201,048
Currently, our mortgage balance stands at $2,720,000, which helped pay for the building of our sanctuary, Education Building, Christian Family Life Center, and other facilities. Our monthly mortgage payments are $16,753.99. Financial gifts to the Mortgage Fund (formerly called the Building Fund and supported by the recent “Putting God First” capital campaign) help pay these monthly obligations. Extra gifts beyond the mortgage payments go to reduce, and eventually eliminate, the remaining principal on the church’s mortgage.
