Sunday School Class Descriptions and Times
Sunday School meets at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday. Classes are provided for all ages. There are a variety of classes available for adults that make it possible for everyone to find his or her special interest.
Youth Division -- Sunday morning classes for all youth, grades 6-12, are in the youth center at Jewett-Bass Hall (Middle School-2nd floor, High School-basement).Youth study a variety of curriculum from Bible study to contemporary issues studies.
Nursery --Nursery for children birth to kindergarten provided during the 8:15 and 11 a.m. worship services, and for special services. During the Sunday School hour (9:30-10:30am), nursery is provided for birth through 2 year olds, with Sunday School for 3 year olds through Senior High.
Children’s Ministry --Provides opportunities for study, fellowship and mission for children age 3 through 5th grade. Preschool Sunday School (Education building downstairs, Rooms 102 & 104) uses "Rock Solid", a UM curriculum taught in a traditional classroom setting. Children’s elementary Sunday School (Education building upstairs, Rooms 202-211) uses the rotational learning model with 8 different workshops for hands-on learning of Bible stories, themes, and scripture.
Asbury Class
Class Contact: Becky and Kevin Miller, Radford83@comcast.net Class Description: This lively discussion class is for adults of any age and typically uses book studies. Recent studies have included Cast of Characters by Max Lucado. Meets in the Library Cornerstone Class

Class Description: This discussion class is for adults of any age and typically uses Bible-based book studies and book reviews. Recent studies have included Captured by Grace by David Jeremiah and studies on Baptism and Communion. Meets in Room 214.
Discovery Class

Class Description: This discussion class is for adults of any age who are interested in Biblical teaching in conversation with current events and societal issues.

Fellowship Class

Class Description: This class began as the young adult class and now welcomes anyone growing into their wisdom years. A lecture format is used following the Uniform Lesson Series that focuses on scripture and discussion. Meets in the Chapel.
Gen XY Class

Class Description: This newly formed class is for adults in their 20s and 30s and is exploring studies that are relevant to this age group.

John Wesley Class

Class Description: A dynamic Bible class taught by Bob Moore in which discussion of topics both current and historical is encouraged.
This class is also heavily involved in mission outreach and sponsors an annual chicken barbecue fundraiser to benefit a chosen cause.

Open Horizons Class

Class Description: This class studies and discusses contemporary issues facing adults in their 30s and 40s.

Circle of Friends Class

Class Description: This discussion class covers a variety of topics from Bible study to contemporary Christian books. Recent studies have included Could You Not Tarry One Hour? by Larry Lea, A Study in Friendship from the Interpretation Bible Studies, Isaiah from the Interpretation Bible Studies, Luke-New Hope, New Joy from the Life Guide Bible Studies, and 1 Corinthians from the Life Application Bible Studies.

It’s a New Day Class

Can’t attend an Adult class every Sunday because of a commitment to teach/shepherd in the Children’s division? Then this class is for you. Each Sunday is a new day studying a new topic. Missing classes will not mean getting behind in the curriculum because each Sunday is independent of the others.
