Welcome!

Welcome: Youth Ministry at Mt. Pisgah

We believe that youth are an important part of our church family, and we continually seek out ways to incorporate them into the life of our church and community through activities, fellowship, and missions.

Our mission is to create an atmosphere where all youth are accepted as they are, grow as disciples, and share the transformative love of God with all whom they meet.

We invite you to join us for study, mission, fellowship, and fun!

Mission, Study, Fellowship, and Fun!

Mission, Study, Fellowship, and Fun!

The purpose of our youth ministry programs is to develop and nurture youth as disciples. A disciple is someone who studies and follows the teachings of Jesus Christ. Discipleship is transformative, reaching into every part of our lives, as we grow closer to God and one another.

There are four ways that we focus on discipleship in our youth programs:
Mission is all about how we can share the love and grace that we have received from God with others in our church and our community (local and global).
Study centers around how we can better understand God’s Word and the ways in which that Word transforms how we live our lives, drawing us into deeper relationship with God and each other.
Fellowship focuses on building strong relationships with those in our church and in our community. We are a part of the body of Christ, and each member is welcomed, accepted, and appreciated for all they have to offer.
Fun! What more needs to be said?

Youth Group
Grades 6 through 12 meet each Sunday, 2:45-4 p.m., in the Christian Family Life Center, September through May. Each week, we explore life topics from a faith perspective through learning, fellowship, and games. In addition to Sunday gatherings, the Youth Group also offers several retreats, lock-ins, and mission trips throughout the year.

Sunday School
The Middle School (grades 6-8) and High School (grades 9-12) classes meet each Sunday, 9:30-10:30 a.m., in Rooms 301 and 302 (upstairs in the Christian Family Life Center). Each week, we dive into current events to develop our understanding of God and to see how our faith affects the way we live our lives.

Wednesday Nights at MP
September through May, we gather on Wednesday evenings for dinner at 5:30 p.m. followed by youth missions at 6 p.m., youth worship arts (W.A.C.Y.) at 6:30 p.m., and youth bells from 7 to 7:30 p.m. In addition to these youth ministry opportunities, there are children’s and adult ministries available.

Confirmation Class
Each year, we offer confirmation classes to youth in grade 7 or above who have not yet been confirmed. The confirmands study the basic doctrines of the church as well as United Methodist history in an effort to cultivate and mature in their own faith journey.

Youth Council
We feel that it is essential to give our youth a voice in our youth ministry programs and activities. If you are interested in coming up with ideas about our ministries, please join us for a Youth Council meeting. Meetings are open to all youth and parents, as we seek to live into our vision of discipleship. We typically meet every other month after 11 a.m. worship.
