Welcome!
Welcome: Youth Ministry at Mt. Pisgah

We believe that youth are an important part of our church family, and we continually seek out ways to incorporate them into the life of our church and community through activities, fellowship, and missions.

Our mission is to create an atmosphere where all youth are accepted as they are, grow as disciples, and share the transformative love of God with all whom they meet.
Be here, Belong, Become
Be here, Belong, Become

Our youth ministry vision is to nurture and develop youth who are life-long followers of God. Our first goal is to BE HERE. This means that we support our youth ministries by our presence. We also recognize that all are welcome and invited in our ministries and we make space for everyone. Our second goal is to BELONG. As we spend time together, we naturally become like a family, supporting one another in the good times and the bad. Lastly, we want to BECOME. We want to be transformed by God and by the community of faith in our youth ministry and in our congregation.

We believe that this transformation occurs as we focus on these four themes:

Worship helps us to remember our priorities and to refocus our lives around God.

Small Groups center on how we can better understand God’s Word and the ways in which that Word transforms how we live our lives, drawing us into deeper relationship with God and each other.

Fellowship focuses on building strong relationships with those in our church and in our community. We are a part of the body of Christ, and each member is welcomed, accepted, and appreciated for all they have to offer.

Mission focuses on putting our faith into action. What we believe and say about God does not make a difference unless our actions also reflect our faith.

Youth Group
Grades 6 through 12 meet each Sunday, 4 to 5 p.m., in the Christian Family Life Center, September through May. Each week, we spend time together in learning about our faith and having fun together. In addition to Sunday gatherings, the Youth Group also offers several retreats, lock-ins, and mission trips throughout the year.

Sunday School
The Middle School (grades 6-8) and High School (grades 9-12) classes meet each Sunday, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., in Rooms 301 and 302 (upstairs in the Christian Family Life Center). Each week, we dive into current events to develop our understanding of God and to see how our faith affects the way we live our lives.

Wednesday Nights at MP
September through May, we gather on Wednesday evenings for youth bells from 6 to 6:45 p.m. and for ECHO (small group) from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. In addition to these youth ministry opportunities, there are children’s and adult ministries available.

Confirmation Class
Each year, we offer confirmation classes to youth in grade 6 or above who have not yet been confirmed. The confirmands study the basic doctrines of the church as well as United Methodist history in an effort to cultivate and mature in their own faith journey.

Youth Council
We feel that it is essential to give our youth a voice in our youth ministry programs and activities. If you are interested in coming up with ideas about our ministries, please join us for a Youth Council meeting. Meetings are open to all youth and parents, as we seek to live into our vision of discipleship. We typically meet every other month after 11 a.m. worship.
