As a part of this year’s stewardship theme of Faith in Action, the Stewardship Branch is requesting your participation in two activities to show our faith in action.

First, we will have a canned food drive during the month of September, which is National Hunger Awareness Month. Canned food will be donated to our church pantry as well as FeedMore’s food bank. Our goal is 700 cans. The need for food is still evident in our local community as well as the greater Richmond area. Each time you go to the store, please pick up a can or two and bring to church each time you come in September. We are so blessed so let’s take this opportunity to share with those less fortunate and follow Jesus’ command to help feed the hungry.

Second, the UMW is sponsoring a church-wide collection of school supplies for UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) school kits. On Sunday, October 18 immediately after the 11:00 a.m. service, we will assemble and pack these kits in the Christian Family Life Center. Please plan to join us! Our goal is 300 UMCOR kits. As you prepare your children for going back to school or as you buy office supplies items, please purchase some items for the school kits. These kits are one of the most requested kits by UMCOR and are sent all over the world.

Please help show your faith in action by participating in these two events. Thank you!
